What do you like about your role?

I have founded multiple types of businesses in my life: e-commerce, international trade, events, parties, IT, mobile apps and e-learning but the most fulfilment i got from applying technology in education. Working in education is like giving people the biggest value, because they can use this investment to improve their lives, finances and quality of life. By applying different solutions of IT business, then we can scale up, reach to people from all over the world and save a lot of time. I love in this area, that i can have millions of students (like in our mobile apps) without even leaving my home.

Share three predictions on the future of Edtech.

For sure e-learning programs will become more interactive and personalised, giving students more targeted and interesting knowledge. I also see gamification as the thing of the future. Education has to become more entertaining and mixed with all areas of our lives. My company goal is to create games, that not only give fun, but also can teach different things. Opportunity to get achievements, points, unlocked items, to compete with friends will make learning more relaxed and entertaining. Also the development of Edtech will give opportunity to measure the progress of each student and with using neural networks and algorythms adjust the learning materials in most efficient way.

What technologies do you believe have the potential to transform the education industry?

I think all kinds of AI will dominate soon the Edtech thinking. Sophisticated algorythms will replace teachers more and more by more personlized approach to students and ability to adjust.

Looking at the key trends over the past 5 years in edtech, what would you say have been the key areas of change that are impacting edtech today? Anything unexpected that surprised you? Trends that were overhyped and never met their expected potential?

The most important is development of mobile internet speeds, allowing people to study wherever they are - waiting for taxi, standing in the queue, going by bus etc. Now in more and more countries high quality content in form of video and audio can be delivered. I am suprised, that still the education apps for mobiles and tablets are growing so slow, and there is not so many fresh ideas in them.

Why is it important for all players in the edtech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?

We cannot learn everything from our own experience. We need to share our stories to grow faster, make less mistakes and come up with ideas together. Also such events are great opportunity to connect startup founders with investors. By getting a lot of new data from particular field, we can invent new solutions and create new products.
