What do you like about your role?
Helping students learn in/with technology makes them aware of their own process of learning. And that encourages every learner to discover their own sense of agency, intuitiveness, and also develops resilience. That is what happens every customised class at Carrots&Apples-Learning Field. Consequently, all active participants interact in a positive feedback loop.
Share three predictions on the future of Edtech.
. Technology and Neurosciences will work cooperatively to provide more certain knowledge on how brain works so as to enhance processes and tools for learning.
. Wearable and mobile devices will make education easier and affordable for more people.
. Ed Tech will make us all aware of global, respectful, and responsible “life-long learning ownership”
What technologies do you believe have the potential to transform the education industry?
- Wearable/Mobile devices
- Augmented Reality / VR
Looking at the key trends over the past 5 years in edtech, what would you say have been the key areas of change that are impacting edtech today? Anything unexpected that surprised you? Trends that were overhyped and never met their expected potential?
Living in an underdeveloped country where education institutions are still reluctant to use technology, Edtech applied in its full sense becomes still a challenge. In spite of that, news about global reality and business are pushing governments and educators to meet the needs and demands of the future generations and workers who need to know how to choose from among the overwhelming offer of hardware and software the most adjustable tools for their necessities.
However, I believe EdTech has another potential of encouraging those who are more curious to engage in startup projects that promote the advantages of applying technology to education specially to motivate students and improve learning while at the same time planting the seeds of a new era when personalised learning, based on analytics stands in actual contrast to standardised models.
Why is it important for all players in the edtech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?
Since a system is a combination of things making a complex unitary whole and learning is an essential, sometimes unconscious act we perform constantly and repeatedly in our social life, hence those who are more concerned about enhancing and improving life through EdTech should interact to make Ed tech Ecosystem always better.
